May Bride

By Ashley Bunner

Today marks exactly one month until the love of my life and I say “I do”. How did that happen? Seriously. It feels like it was just the other day that I decided to take a risk and go out on a date with one of my best friends.

In honor of it being one month until our wedding day, I decided to share a little bit about why being a “May bride” was so important to me.

For starters, I wanted to share this photo of myself that was taken on the day I decided that I wanted to get married in the spring. More specifically, it was on Mother’s Day in 2010 that I made a mental note to myself that I wanted to get married in the spring.

Peonies

Why? Well, for as long as I can remember, spring has always been my favorite season. There’s just something about the air warming up, the flowers blooming and all of nature coming back to life after the long harsh winter that always brought comfort and happiness to me.

On the day the photo was taken I was walking through my grandma’s front yard with her admiring her gorgeous pink peonies. She offered to fix me a bouquet to take home and as she was clipping them she mentioned how pretty they would be in a bridal bouquet.  Continue reading “May Bride”

Welcome to our Wedding Website

by Brendan Smith

Wow, just over four months and I’ll be a married man. When I started my college education in the fall of 2012 I told myself, “You better not date your freshman year, you need to focus on getting used to college.” Little did I know that I would meet my future bride that October and that we would start dating in February!

From the first day we met on October 20 during our dorms’ football tailgate all the way until today, we have grown closer as friends and gotten to know each other a little bit better every single day. It didn’t take long for me to realize that Ashley was the girl I wanted to marry. After dating for over a year and a half, I proposed to Ashley in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art on October 17, 2014.

Now after almost another year and a half, we are approaching our wedding and we could not be more excited.

We’ve created this website to share all the details of our upcoming ceremony and reception and to keep you up-to-date with what we’re up to along the way.

Thank you for being a part of our lives and we hope to celebrate with you in May!
